The James Graham Brown Foundation—an organization dedicated to investing capital as a catalyst to bring about transformational change—needed a brand that reflected their mission but nearly as importantly, included a nod to the foundation’s founder. The initial “j” in the logo was based on the founders’ signature and also functioned as a graphic flourish in the organization’s collateral and on their website. (Side note: this was one of those projects where I really rooted for one of the also-rans because it was so interesting conceptually and fit so well with the foundation’s important work, so you may see that branding work posted soon as well.)
